Common Toad

We were approached by The Newt, formerly known as Hadspen House, to assist in the complete redesign of the once-famous gardens. Due to environmental regulations, they had to relocate the great crested newts and common toads. To commemorate this significant project, the client suggested incorporating several large newt sculptures made of lead, coade, and bronze, spouting water, emerging from walls, and serving as focal points in different garden areas. The Newt was the initial animal sculpture commissioned by the client and has since been replicated in different materials.
