King George III

Restoration of the surviving bust from the 15-foot Coade stone statue of King George III, originally placed atop Dunston Pillar in 1810 to mark his Golden Jubilee. Removed in 1941 for RAF safety and damaged in the process, the statue’s fragments were stored at Lincoln Castle for decades. The bust was sent to us to be restored and can now be found in the grounds of Lincoln Castle.
